Gay comics watcher, Joo's ears look odd because he has 'cauliflower ear'. It's an extremely common injury in fighting sports, caused by repeatedly hard blows to the side of the head, causing the ear to develop a blood clot or fluid collection, so the ear swells from the pressure under the skin. So, that's why his ears look funny. I promise, the artist was completely intentional with this bit.
